Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to introduce the Intrusio Firewall Project, an exciting new initiative that’s currently in development. Our goal with Intrusio is to provide an easy-to-use, cost-effective network security solution tailored for homes and small businesses. While we’re still in the early stages, here’s a preview of what we’re working on and what you can look forward to.
Intrusio will include features designed to manage and secure your network effectively. One of its primary functions will be to block access to unwanted or potentially harmful websites and applications. Whether you’re aiming to reduce distractions at work or protect your family from inappropriate content, Intrusio will help you maintain control over your network environment.
We’re also focusing on optimizing network traffic, by not only use traditional methods to ensure fair distribution of network bandwidth but also incorporate advanced technologies like fq_codel and CAKE. These technologies are designed to minimize latency and prevent network congestion, automatically prioritizing crucial applications such as Teams, Zoom, and VoIP calls. With these features, you’ll experience smooth, reliable communication and avoid the frustration of slow connections or dropped calls.
A standout feature of Intrusio will be its ability to detect and report on new devices connecting to your network. This will allow you to monitor which devices are joining your network and ensure that only authorized ones are given access. Additionally, we’re integrating the Suricata project for our intrusion detection and protection. This advanced technology will help safeguard your network from potential threats and malicious activities, providing an extra layer of security.
